Pulse/POW Percussion 2019 -Visual Member Agreement
Pulse Percussion is dedicated to remaining a competitive percussion ensemble. In order to achieve this goal, we must have the finances to do so, and a large portion of this is done through you, the member. The following document outlines the financial agreement between the Pulse Percussion organization and the prospective members of Pulse Percussion. A signed and returned copy of this agreement is required to establish membership in the group, and a parent / guardian signature is required for prospective members under the age of 18. Upon joining this ensemble, it is imperative that you keep up with the payments outlined below. Please read thoroughly in order to gain a clear understanding of all dates, expectations and requirements.
1. Audition Fee: $25 Audition Fee
-The Audition Fee is required of all prospective members prior to auditions,
-The Audition Fee is non-refundable.
2. Participation Fee: $1500
-Instruction & staffing
-Uniform / costume
-Transportation & lodging for WGI Championships in Dayton, OH
-Mid-rehearsal meals in Dayton, OH during WGI Championships
Does not Include:
-Transportation to local shows
-Meals at local shows
-Meals during weekend rehearsals

All payments are due prior to the beginning of rehearsal. Credit Card payments can be made online at anytime prior to the beginning of rehearsal. Cash and Checks are to be turned in at beginning of rehearsal.
$800 must be paid in full by December 8, 2018. Failure to do so will result in possible forfeiture of membership and being prohibited from participating in rehearsals and performances until the amount owed is paid in full. You will still be required to attend rehearsals and shows, however, you will not be allowed to participate.
If a member voluntarily or involuntarily withdrawals from the ensemble, no refund will be granted, no matter the date of withdrawal, as Pulse Percussion has already invested in travel arrangements / hotel reservations /costumes / props, etc. In addition, any money fundraised will go to the Pulse Percussion organization.
ALL FEES MUST BE TURNED IN BY THE END OF THE SEASON. Failure to comply with this will result in the organization turning this information over to a collection agency.
Checks must be made payable to: Pulse Percussion. All checks will be deposited the week after which it is received unless otherwise notified.
It will be the member’s responsibility to purchase their own performance shoes as instructed by the directors of Pulse Percussion. The approximate cost of the shoes will be $50. At the end of the season the shoes will be the property of the member and not Pulse Percussion.
EQUIPMENT / BORROWING EQUIPMENT:
Any equipment belonging to Pulse Percussion that is removed from the rehearsal site by a member of the ensemble will assume sole responsibility for any damages to that equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, property being stolen. Pulse Percussion is NOT liable for any damages and expenses for equipment removed from site by any members. Members are not liable for damages that incur during rehearsal except as a result of improper use, horseplay, or intentional damage.
Any member borrowing equipment from Pulse Percussion must complete the Equipment Sign-Out Form with the director prior to doing so.
Attendance is mandatory at all rehearsals and performances. Absences for conflicts such as school, drum corps auditions, work and other activities need to be communicated to the ensemble coordinator and director. There are no valid excuses for missing rehearsal or performances in February, March and April.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
-Any use or possession of illegal substances while participating with Pulse Percussion will result in immediate termination without refund.
-Smoking and drinking is strictly prohibited while participating with Pulse Percussion.
-Any illegal activities may result in removal from the ensemble.
-Member agrees to represent Pulse Percussion with respect and professionalism as prescribed by the staff and directors of Pulse Percussion.
-Members found to be exhibiting unprofessional behavior can be terminated without refund.
I agree to pay the full costs for Pulse Percussion as stated in the terms above. I further understand and agree to the terms of the late payment of $40 dollars for each late payment as well as the full implications of financial responsibilities for removing any equipment from the site at which Pulse Percussion is located.
